Because welcome and hospitality are so important to us, we voted to move forward with a capital project and campaign to add a new, main entrance off the parking lot and modify the first floor so that the church can better serve all who walk through our doors.
The capital campaign began on Easter Sunday, 2014. The total cost of the project was roughly $900,000. The new entrance and first floor modifications were dedicated on Sunday, April 26, 2015.
Some of the specifics include…
Guests now enter a secure, glassed-in Vestibule.
From the glassed-in Vestibule, guests enter our spacious Lobby that will include a welcome/information center supported by church volunteers. On the left, guests have easy access to the Elevator and Thompson Chapel. To the right, guests have easy access to the Nursery and Toddler Room.
Opened First Floor
The library was opened up as much as possible on all four sides to become an informal gathering area for coffee and conversation. This space also serves as overflow for the Spindler Dining Room. Several storage closets across from the Library were removed in order to widen the hallway area. This created more open space as guests make their way around the first floor.
New Lounge/Small Conference Room
The old Nursery located off the Gallery Hallway is now a small multi-purpose room. This will include a sitting area and small conference table and chairs.
